BUG-4110: playing videos inside "pictures" section is not working well (1 Viewer)

We have the feature in MP to be able to play videos inside the "Pictures" section. It is also possible to have videos in the folder get included into slideshows.
This is extremelly useful when you want to watch all pictures and videos you made from your last holiday, without being forced to switch between "Pictures" and "Videos".

Known Issues:

• Actual 1.3.0Beta solution only work when you have Pic->Vid->Pic.
• Not really an issue but we need to uncheck the box for "Leave a thumb in recording folder" option.

Testing Required:

• Play Pictures or Videos inside MyPictures (you can skip item by F7/F8 or 'buttons |< >|' on remote.
• Try in slideshow mode too.

Attached bin (based on 1.3.0Beta) should correct it

I also add an link to the branch on GitHub so that devs can get the code and try to help me directly.

This is a great news for me.
I'd like to test this.
From my point of view the picture section is the section of MePo that has the most room for improvement. Music, video, TV and radio can do a step ahead from very good to excellent. But the pictures section is still on its way from basic to good. If anybody whants to hear my ideas please contact me.

This will be my first Area 51 testing, so I have some questions:
Is it possible to rollback to the original MePo version?
Is it possible to update a patched version with the original installer?

As far as I understood you only have to change one .dll here. (based on MP 1.3.0 Beta)
Just backup the existing .dll. So you can rollback anytime you want.

Yep, just backup original bin and copy new one and copy back your backup to restore it.
Be carefull that bin are based on 1.3.0Beta

I have done some tests.
The videos are playing fine.
I have tested first a pic, than a vid and first a vid, than a pic. It works in all cases. Also playing within a slideshow works.

But: MePo creates a thumbnail for each vid in the pictures folder. These thumbnail are than within the slideshows. So from my point of view these thumbnail shouldn't be generated.
And with the patch I get a windows security alert when starting MePo. It says that the publisher of the exe can't be verified.

ATM I am testing the full/half screen upon switching off receiver/tv set. The changed files from that fork are (partly) the same ones in this patch.
Once im done I will start testing this awesome featuren I welcome this feature! thanks for developing it.

I'm currently try to fix an issue (when playing music).
About Thumbnail, i didn't look it (but i can say like it's video, thumbnail is create) but i don't understand "These thumbnail are than within the slideshows".
@megahorst Can you create a screenshot and submit log too ?
About Security alert, it's maybe because i build directly mediaportal.exe.

I will try to supply a full installer later and then see if it always does the same.

About Thumbs, it should be in : C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs

@Sebastiii: what he means with "These thumbnail are with the slideshow" is, that the thumb for the video is created as a *.jpg (or whatever format these thumbs are) and so regarded as a standard picture. So next time you use a slideshow on that folder after the video you see the thumbnail of the video. I tend to agree that this is not nice as it "spams" the pictures folder.
