    Im talking nonsense

I checked the logs [must check logs] and the system woke up OK. The problem is it got some E_NOINTERFACE exceptions and then decided it was time to shutdown again. [I had set the powerdown interval to 3 minutes -- and the wakeup before recording to 5 minutes !!] :(

Now let me set this up properly and try again....

I can confirm that with the latest 0.2.0.0 RC + SVN up to 26.05.2006, PowerScheduler does not seem to fully work:

    • Configuring PowerScheduler to standby (S3 mode), it doesn't wakeup when a recording i due - but I can wake Media Portal with my keyboard.

Configuring PowerScheduler to hibernate (S4 mode), it does wakeup when a recording is scheduled - but I can't wake it up with my keyboard.

Both situations are somewhat annoying (either I miss scheduled recordings, or I have to go to my basement to power up from hibernation when I want to use Media Portal).

If someone has the skills (and guts :)) to look into the code - I will be happy to supply MediaPortal.log info or system specs of course...

waking up/starting the PC with the keyboard is done by the BIOS of your mainboard and is not related to WindowsXP or MediaPortal afaik.

powerscheduler (S4 hibernate) is working just fine here.

Sure - waking up from hibernate (S4) works fine here too, but suspend (S3) to me is preferable, since resuming from S3 is a lot faster - and generally there are more hardware devices that malfunction after a wake-from-hibernation (S4) than from standby (S3). S3 uses i little more power, however.

The strange part of this is that PowerScheduler tells the BIOS to wake up from hibernation (S4) which works, but it can't make the BIOS wake up from standby (S3). S3 is "less powersaving" and leaves power on the CPU etc, so I would imagine that waking up from S3 be posssibe when waking from S4 is working flawlessly.

Does anyone have wake from S3 (with PowerScheduler) working or is it just me having trouble?
