Hi.. i have this bug showing up that when i click the "X" to close MP from Fullscreen mode, my desktop will not re-draw and all i see is the MP screen, although it thinks it has minimized. I can come back from this crash and am forced to reboot.

after more investigation, it seems that this bug only shows up when MP is set to minimize to the task bar.

thanx...

Glad I am not the only one !!

I too get this same issue.

If I run MP in full screen and then Alt+Tab to switch back to window mode, the screen changes like it is doing as requested and then switches back to full screen mode again.

Eventually I get sick of it and use Task mangler to kill MediaPortal.exe and then I restart the app.

I also get DirectX errors in the MediaPortal.log file when this happens but they are not very specific. (I will paste them when I get home)

This is pretty much the last thing I need to get sorted before I look at building a dedicated MP machine for the lounge room :)

I used to have this issue also. It seemed to resolve when I created a scheduled task to reboot the machine nightly after updating the TVGuide.

I wanted to test this out and try to reproduce it the best I could. It seems like it is very easy to make the GUI lock up when a video is playing. If I have a video playing in the preview screen and click exited... I get the screenshot below. When I restore it.. it goes to full video.

    HERE is my full log.

ASiDiE - Me thinks your video card doesn't have enough get-up-and-go. I've seen this type of problem with other apps when using a vid card that was underpowered.

    Hi,

What is the definition of an underpowered video-card?

I have an Radeon 9800 Pro running on an Intel Pentium 4, 3.00GHz with 1GB of RAM, and I have exactly the same problem with fullscreen.

    Regards,
    Thomas

I understand that my video card is not the best or fastest out there... but a lot of people are using the 5200 with no problems. I personally think that this issue (minimizing to tray with or without video) is an issue with the minimize to tray plug-in that was added awhile back. In the first post, the guy has a ATI x300. I don't really how fast it is.. but it is a pretty new card and should handle MP very nicely.

I will tell my wife that you TOLD me to get a new card...... THE BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS!

Well since we are a number of miles apart - just have her come and venge her rath on me.

As you can tell, I didn't read back through the other posts. Guess I shoudn't get to close to any cliffs either!

After reading through the posts I would agree with you (duh). And as I'm sure you would agree that I am not of any help, sorry to say.
