    Also worth mentioning:
ATi + XP + EVR (no DXVA) -> all fine

    So:
    ATi + XP + VMR9 -> no good
ATi + Vista + EVR -> no good

= Seriously considering going nVidia again

Does this mean that if you use EVR in XP, that DxVA is disabled?

I thought that ATI on Vista (with EVR) was fine - are you saying that this same TV/Video preview window bug exists in both XP and Vista?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies.

So.. this seems to be an ATI problem (after all) :(
Depending on the MP skin and ATI driver version you use.

I'm gone leave this problem as is. Within a few months, I can install a new version of the ATI driver and see if the problem still exists. For now, there is nothing else I can do...

The preview window in PureVision HD is centered in the middel of the screen (as some sort of TV window).
Buttons are left from the preview window. To the right are images and labels that change (depending on MP content that is playing)

I like this skin very much. Unfortunately there is nothing much I can do to improve it.
I can not place the preview window more to the left. Since there is no room for it there.

ATI developpers, you know what to do :)

    Hi Gent32m,

I intend to log a bug with ATI on this issue, and it would help if I could quote a version of the ATI drivers that do not have this bug. Could you please tell me the vertsion of the ATI driver that you have on the Asus pc with an ATI HD2600 Pro videocard?

    Thanks ....

    No DxVa w/EVR@XP

I only know that this combo is no good - forgot why
