    Hey guys,

    I am experiencing this since I started using the TV-Server (lots of months). When I change channels the TV playback stops (I can still hear sound but it also stops after some seconds). If I select the "Try avoiding seeking during channel change" option I can normally zap through channels without any problem. When I stop playback, continue playback and change channels afterwards the playback stops again as I described before.

    The TV-Server should not be the problem since I could still watch the stream via VLC on another PC when MediaPortal stopped playback.

    I think the MediaPlayer is envolved somehow (it is not really able to handle the stream of the TV-Server) since the playback continues when I FastForward in "hang mode".

    - I tried different codecs
    - I tested scrambled and non scrambled channels
    - I attached some commented logs for you ;)

    big problem also here

    TV-Server Version: tvengine3 Rev16330
    MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3 RC3 SVN 16330
    MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo wide
    Windows Version: Vista Home Premium
    CPU Type: Athlon X2
    HDD: 2x120GB
    Memory: 2048MB
    Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400-M GS
    1. TV Card: TechnoTrend TT-connect S2-3650 CI
    1. TV Card Type: DVB-S / USB 2.0
    1. TV Card Driver: 1.0.7.8
    MPEG2 Video Codec: Cyberlink
    MPEG2 Audio Codec: Cyberlink
    Satellite/CableTV Provider: Astra 19.2

    I have the same problem here. Channel change simply doesn't work: First the picture freezes, then the last second of the old channel is repeated, then it freezes again. After switching TV off and on again the new channel starts playing.

    -> Tried different codecs, with all the same
    -> Tried different versions, back to September 14th, still the same

    Maybe interesting: the following portion of the TSWriter.LOG, which I find repeatedly
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: Get CI Slot State
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 Technotrend: bdaapiCIGetSlotStatus failed:15
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: DescrambleMultiple:(1)
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: DescrambleMultiple: serviceId:12779

    This could be related to the channel switching problem, as well as to the (second) problem, that encrypted channels (such as ORF1) don't work at all at the moment.

    If I can't get that working I think I'll have to give up MP as a whole, since my TV card was not detected with 0.2.3.0 RC3 alone (without TVE3) ... :(

    soberdor try not to use cyberlink audio codec, it seems to have some problems (expecially with new tsreader filter).

    I use for instance cyberlink a video codec and ffdshow as audio codec and everything works without problems.

    Thank you robyf, but as mentioned before - I tried already different codec configurations, that didn't result in any change of behaviour.

    Maybe there's an issue with the Technotrend BDA driver?? Could that be?

    I have had this issue with various drivers and firmwares over quite some time so I can rule this out for my case.

    I now added a DVB-T USB-Stick to my config, and this is what happens:

    switch from:
    DVB-S (TT-connect 3650 CI) --> DVB-T (Dazzle USB Stick): no problem
    DVB-T --> DVB-T: no problem
    DVB-T --> DVB-S: no problem
    DVB-S --> DVB-S: MP hangs

    so I still assume it has to do something with the Technotrend Driver, as mentioned, my TSWriter.log shows the following lines repeatedly:

    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: Get CI Slot State
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 Technotrend: bdaapiCIGetSlotStatus failed:15
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: DescrambleMultiple1)
    23-10-2007 10:58:07 TechnoTrend: DescrambleMultiple: serviceId:12779

    Has someone made positive experience with the Technotrend TT-connect S2-3650 CI??

    Is this USB box already tested? It's still quite new, so maybe there aren't many of them around yet.

    I probably would assume that in your case the cause of your problem are the Technotrend drivers, too but if you read my opening post carefully you will see that tuning works for me so just playback itself (like the title indicates) doesn't work properly. These are two very different causes which seem to cause the same result (ie: black screen).

    Hmm, I am not 100% sure, yet but using the new TsReader.ax seems to fix this problem.

    so far...
