You know what, I've just realised something.

For Vista, the Cache is actually here: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache

AND for you Vista users that cant get Logos working, its because the Logos directory is actually here: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos

This is why I (and a few others) mentioned creating the thumbs\tv\logos folder because on Vista its in a different place! Give that folder a try Hazza87 :)

Note 1: ProgramData folder is hidden, may need to turn on Show hidden files and folders

Note 2: Parliament TV logo: it seens on DVB-T the actual channel is "Parliament TV " with the space at the end (according to the rescan I did last night), so the filename has to be "Parliament TV .jpg" with the space also or it wont load

Good point. I haven't gone to Vista on the MP machine yet so have to admit I don't even think about those little extras.

My DB is looking a wee bit dodgy at the moment and has caused TVService to crash a few times during EPG loads so I'm tempted to kill it and start again. I wonder if they've changed their names since I first did my scan which is why the names are different now. Once I find out I'll redo the file names and repost. If the DVB-T name is different than the ones on the satelite I'll put in duplicate files so we don't have multiple logo files.

Other than that if anyone has some better ones send them through to me and I'll swap them out. I'm not totally happy with the BBC World one at the moment so might look for a replacement for that at least.

Here's an updated Logos zip with updated BBC, CNN and Sky News icons. Now it's only really the Trackside and Juice logos that I'm finding are hard to read.

That and differentiating between the Sky Sport channels but I'm sure I can count to 3 so that's OK. ;)

mcraenz: Check here, and try and tune in and see what happens It seems likely that tests will be up and running.
Digital television 2007 frequency plan — New Zealand Radio Spectrum Management

I think the ones in the second table are for later on in the year after the main centers are done. Even some of the sites on the first table don't seem to be active such as Putauaki which I think is in Rotorua which doesn't show as having any coverage at all according to the Kordia maps. Still maybe they're ahead of schedule so I guess it doesn't hurt.

Very interesting table anyway. It will be very interesting to see if Putauaki helps out with our HD coverage as I'm not holding out too much hope from Te Aroha at the moment.

Oh ok. I'm also told that the DVB-T doesn't need anywhere near as much "signal" (don't know if that's the right term) as analog, I've heard that people in Auckland are getting an adequate "lock" with not much more than a piece of wire having off the DVB-T card!

I would be interested to know who from the land of the long white cloud is using MP with a view to sharing resources and info for local setups.
Eg I have made simple icons for all the TV and Radio stations in area (Auckland) if anybody would like copies. Things such as links to images for my weather etc would be useful. Even if anybody has info on where htpc gear is available locally. Even links to local resources for htpc stuff.

In particular is anyone in NZ using a DVB card to grab free to air digital broadcasts of TV1 and TV2 (this is available now) or other channels? I am guessing quality is much better than analogue.
    Hi
My MP box is a work in process and I have a few issues I have yet to resolve. If there is anyone in the Napier/Hastings area who would like to make contact and share experiences I would be keen to hear from them. Otherwise I will be very happy to be involved with a general NZ user group.
    Cheers
    Alan

    Hey Alan,

Welcome! Let us know your system specs; are you running TVServer? What issues are you experiencing? I'm sure one of us will be able to give you some pointers.

    Cheers,
    mcraenz
