i have full epg for tvnz7 im using dvb-s, try deleting the channel and rescanning, or check that that channel is selected to get epg

That worked, thanks :) It definately was scanning for the EPG (I did check that beforehand too). I also did numerous rescans (but not deleting the channel first). Now I can set the News at 8 to record.

I am using SVN 17991 as advised earlier and found it to be quite stable, But am having a few issues my recorded tv is not showing up in the recorded tv menu option. It is saving to the right place but not in a folder as it used to. Also comskip is starting correctly on the files but not completing the process and only skipping the first ads or just doing the first 5 mins or so.

    I have a problem...
I've been trying to run a Hauppauge PVR 500 analogue tuner with a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 DVB-T tuner together and have only been able to get the digital signal to work.

Both cards can be scanned and the channels picked up fine, but i can only ever preview either digital, or analogue, never both of them in the same boot. If i reboot the machine i can then try previewing the other stream... This non-previewing then carries on into the frontend and i can only really use one card or the other. Can you see my problem?

And just this morning i tried again with the latest build but now i can only get the analogue card to preview, but i can't get it to show in the front end at all, i just get the dreaded "no audio or video detected" when trying to watch any channel proper.

Does someone who has both an analogue and DVB-T card running know if there is a particular SVN release that is more stable/likely to work than another?

Are you using a splitter for the antenna? If so try this:
    -Reboot.
    -Remove the antenna from DVB-T
    -Preview an analog channel
-Remove the antenna from analog and put it in DVB-T and try to preview a channel on DVB-T.

Yeah i am using a splitter, i didn't think the splitter would have had any effect on the system as i can scan for all channels just fine with the splitter installed, i just can't preview one analogue and then a DVB-T.

I'll see how i go tonight with trying to remove the splitter and seeing what things look like.

Can someone point me to a 'how to' to set up the epg for my setup please?

I am in Auckland NZ running TVserver with a Hauppauge HVR3000 and have tuned in the DVB-T stations only. It is running well except for epg and recording (I assume because I have no epg data).

I am getting no now/next info most of the time (sometimes it seems to come and go). I have had previous versions of MP 1 and gb-pvr.

    Thanks, Greg

Check out cranz's feature rich step by step guide here. cranznz - TV-Server and MediaPortal Guide

In particular, look for the epg guide pages and he's pretty much got everything outlined there. Be aware though that he, and most other NZ users use a piece of software from reven interactive to grap the epg data off the interwebs and to get the version that works you need to donate for it. A public release will be out soon enough, but some have been waiting 6 months for said release, so if you can't wait, i suggest you donate.

is it possible that you have accidentally put the two cards into one hybrid card?

Carrying on from our brief GZ discussion regarding EPG for TV3 DVB-T, I have good EPG for Prime by combining the Analog and DVB-S Prime signals and using EPG ONLY. I used the steps in your wiki to accomplish that and it works just fine.

However combining TV3 DVB-T with Sky TV3 to achieve the same result is not working. I still only get the TV3 DVB-T EIT i.e. this program and next EPG. So, can you outline if the process to map TV3 DVB-T to a DVB-S channel is different? For instance, does the priority of the DVB-T card matter? Does the fact that TV3 DVB-T carries EIT EPG data get in the way?

Mapping the DVB-T signals to a corresponding DVB-S signal is different to mapping an Analog signal to a DVB-S signal because the DVB-T signal carries some EPG data whereas the Analog signal does not. This must be having an impact for me, because the DVB-T EPG data is the one that MP is picking up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit:
PS Your not combining TV3 DVBT with Freeview TV3 DVB-S and letting the card priority take care of things are you?

    Cheers Mike
