Not sure about how to tell, I've not really used tsreader much, I think you'll see a log for it either in tvserver logs or mediaportal logs. I guess you've tried turning off the post processing? Btw is that post processing stuff quite helpful? I've never done anything with it.

Are you just using the standard MPV codec? I'm not sure what you mean by mytv vs My Videos? do you mean for the config? That I'm not 100% sure about either. It used to be My videos but it may have been changed just set both the same while testing.

Johnrw, can you expand on the program needed to open the document within the ZIP file. Its shows here as a SXW file and is not recognised by word or anything else I have.

    Cheers Mike

I have been away. I will re-post sometime this week. I originally saved the screen shots into an openoffice word file but obviously it is not compatible with MS word. I thought it would expand to MS word.

Well I have everything up and running pretty well now. One thing though is skipping past adds on recorded TV. I can use fwd but it just pixilates and I cant see when to stop. I have also used the arrow keys but this causes it to freaze up and stutter and splutter.

My guess is that you're just fast forwarding and not actually skipping an ad. That may appear as pixelation as the screen is changing so quickly. I haven't played with comskip yet (Well not seriously anyway) so don't know whether the controls are different in liveTV versus recorded TV or whether extra config is required.

As far as tsreader goes yes you will get a new log file for it. When I started to use it it seemed to either work as before or not at all. My first attempt I didn't realise I was still running an old version of TVService and whenever I turned on TV it would try and then just turned the TV off again. Once I upgraded the TVService it just worked as before but a fair amount quicker. You don't need to change how you use MP at all though.

Yes you are correct I am just forwarding when I get pixilation. Using the arrow keys doesnt work any better really. I'm going to get comskip going tonight hopefully.

I think tsreader is working as it is a hell of a lot faster to start and to change channel.

Thanks johnrw. I would appreciate that.

Mcraenz: Thanks for your help on combining DVB-S and Analogue channels for SKY earlier in the thread. I have figured out how to do that now. My last question is about controlling the SKY box from TVE3. How did you configure MP to only output IR signals to the SKY box when a SKY channel is selected? I can see how that might be done with TVE2 but not sure how that is configured with TVE3. In my case, I have TV1,2,3 etc coming in through the DVB-S card, so I don't want to send any IR output when I select those channels from TVE3. However when I select a SKY channel, which it knows is mapped to both a DVB-S card and an Analogue input (set to higher priority), I want the STB controlling IR signals sent. Do I need a plugin for that?

    Cheers Mike

I've not used the blaster app for TV3 but I think the blasting must be asociated only with the analog card not the DVB-S card so only during the analog tuning process should it send the IR. But then again I'm not 100% sure I follow you ;)

Hi Mcraenz, I am using the MP TV Server which work well for me.

The only problem I have is stuttered images when the wireless LAN reception is low - like in our bedroom. Do you perhaps know of a way to send out a leaner stream?

I am going to have to look into this tsreader, as i am not using it at the moment but quicker starting and channel changing would be nice.
