Hey folks, just a heads up. I have MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 working with a SkyStar2 here, all freeview channels, dvb epg and teletext all working. Next project is getting an analog card working so I can get prime and other UHF channels. Any recommendations? I had my eye on a Lifeview hybrid DVB-T/hardware encoding analog card, expansys says they are getting them in stock soon, price around $200. Sound like a good deal?

Hey Kirjava, I was just about to recommend a Hauppauge PVR-150 which are great cards but that hybrid sounds pretty interesting, do you have a model number?

Sorry, it turns out that expansys only have the T2A2 (non-hardware encoding), not the T2A2M. I shall email them about this.

What I wonder is whether they will support MPEG4 for DVB-T like we will be rolling here in NZ. I assume the hardware-encoded analog will be MPEG2 but that is fine.

I use Hauppauge 150 MCE which I got originally for MCE but it works fine with MediaPortal (0.2.2.0 or MP TV Server). The MCE Remote works well also with no requirement for driver change. I am working from the other end - I am about to add a "FloppyDVT" I think it is called for my digital satellite input which I ordered from the suppliers site for the price quoted less VAT plus shipping all for about Euro 160. Arrives soon. I think hybrids can sometimes be a bit tricky.

Thats a firewire DVB-S with CAM support right?
Can I ask why you chose that over say a "SkyStar 2" PCI?

For MediaPortal I saw it at the top of the supported list of boards, it had CI and CAM support (I have an Irdeto CAM and a card for off-shore TV), my computer has a limited number of slots (this card can use any one of PCI, PCI-Express, Firewire - I have two of these available but no more normal card slots). We re talking about the new one called "The FloppyDVT S/CI" (not the one in the front panel mounig box) and I found it at

Yes I have and I have also just asked on the mcraenz site for assistance with Comskip and PowerScheduler when using MediaPortal TV Server and client front end. Does anyone have both of these successfully working?

When I set up my MP TV Server and MP client front end, I simply could not get PowerSceduler to work. I did in the end get Comskip to work. I have now gone back to the simpler single user MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 with latest SVN. It started to do Comskip okay as well as PowerScheduler. PowerScheduler I think is not working as at last night but I might have a wrong setting. Now my issue is how to load up the channels for FTA satellite in New Zealand. I have installed a FloppyDVT S/CI card which is supported by MediaPortal. Anyone any ideas where I should go to do a complete and correct install from start to finish? Like where do I find the correct BDA driver, where do I get the correct transponder details or do I set it up with AutoScan?
