Hmm if the frequencies are ok thats a little strange. It depends a lot on what tower your UHF aerial is pointing at. The frequencies in the latest builds are only for 4 towers out of about 12 (they're being updated for future builds). I think Waitarua in Auckland, Kaukau/Wharite in Wellington and one of the sites in Christchurch are preloaded.

I was talking to someone on Saturday that installed the latest SVN build and could only pick up TV3 and C4. They had to reboot after installation before it would pick up the rest, so could give that a try? :) Also where abouts is your aerial pointing

Well, it's just odd, i mean, i can pick up all the freeview channels no worries with the bundled PowerCinema software and the signal quality is pretty well spot on so i don't think that any problems will be with the aerial or any other hardware. I can only presume that there is some incompatibility with MP.

The logs show no errors or anything of the sorts so i can't even put them up to show people.

Have i maybe just been a chump and bought a card that won't work with MP?

It's a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 card. I had planned on picking up another card at some point... would that time be now?

    \EDIT
Could it be that something as simple as a patch that has been talked about needing is all i need to make it work? I'll try it out tonight.

    No problems DrLurch :)

PHansen I'd try that patch, It looks like it might solve your problem. I'm using Vista and wasn't aware of any DVB hotfixes for XP. Also I'm using the Nova-t-500 dual tuner card with tvserver so that card deffinetly works (and works well!). The only other thing I could think of would be to try a later build of tvserver as the last few or so have had a few issues
Also make sure your drivers are up to date from hauppauge.co.uk

handya, i'm running SVN 17991 with no issues from tvserver or MP. I tried 18153 and 18207 with no joy so went back. it's an older build but it's not suffering from the dll issues that the new builds are (dsshowhelpder.dll and tsreader.ax)

    t's a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 card

These are one of the best reception cards you can get, considering i only get 50% signal, quality reads at 100 and get no pixelating\freezing.

Sounds like incorrect frequencys being scanned, if dvb fix does not help.

Tried mine with TVE3 18080 (possible filter problem after this build, being dealt with) use same MP svn as well.

    Cheers

Here's a new dvbt.xml file (to put in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters) that has new options for NZ towers and even a "New Zealand - All" list of frequncies incase you don't know which tower you're using (good failsafe - you're bound to get something lol)

The frequencies are courtesy of doubletop and will most likely be added to future builds soon (i just added the <dvb></dvbt> tags ;))

Thanks cranz... i'm at work at the moment and set up my own version of that xml file here ready for use back at home tonight. With any luck that will fix the problem.

I might do a fresh install of TV server and all the rest too just to make sure all of kosher.

    Hi all.

Am running, very successfully, a Nova-S card from an old sky dish in one of the deepest darkest Wellington southcoast valleys. Not much chance of DVB-t here I think. But I'm not complaining - DVB-S is excellent.

One question though - I'm not having any luck with getting the teletext (page 801) to run smoothly. It starts delayed, then gets slower and slower. I've not tried any tweaks in the configuration. I'm using TV server single seated, and SVN build 17350 (I think).

Any suggestions on how to improve teletext? (I'm partially deaf)

    Thanks
