    Hi,
Tested your .avi file here on vista & xp pro + latest ffdshow tryouts & it works as it should, on xp comp it didn't work before i had downloaded & installed ffdshow(used default installation options).

    Regards

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. :)

So I guess something is messed up with my HTPC, and I should first try and reinstall all the codecs?

Does anyone have any good suggestions how/if to 'uninstall' all my codecs before reinstalling?

I'm running XP MCE Edition (SP2 basically)...

    Should I follow this?

    Thanks for your support. :)

Id suggest to format your system disk to get everything perfectly clean, and then installing just the few codecs you need. That will ensure a rock stable setup =)

But uninstalling ALL codecs is the second best thing, yes.

Instead of reinstalling your OS or using the KB solution above (which I suspect wont fix your problem) check under the headline "A clean start" on the following link:
    http://www.inmatrix.com/articles/mediasetup3.shtml

It worked for me (so far).
