Can I make MediaPortal's animations more smooth like Windows MCE? (1 Viewer)

I'm really, really torn about which media front-end to use. I don't have any tuners so I'll only being use my HTPC for media playback (HD content mostly).

Vista MCE is really nice with the Aero theme, but MCE2005 is a lot quicker ("snappier").

However, Media Portal has by far the most features and lets you view your media in very, very nice lists. (this is the main reason I'm shying away from MCE2005).

Anyways, can I have Media Portal's animation a bit nicer like MCE2005/Vista MCE? I've tried the Xface 1.2 skin which is REALLY nice but it still doesn't have that ultra-smooth feel like MCE2005/Vista.

Are there any settings I can tweak or anything like that?

you'll need to post some info about your hardware.
Is your gfx card DX9 compliant? that's a big thing that will make a difference.
Also, how much memory does it have? MP with some of the more elaborate skins requires at least 128Mb or video card memory.

    Thanks for the reply!

    I'm using an nVidia 8400GS (256MB RAM, DX10 compliant).

My system is pretty decent to... (Opteron 165 [dual-core] @ 2.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, running Windos MCE 2005 but I've also tried it on Vista).

Do I have to enable any options or anything? ...or do I just install a skin and select it?

Are there any better skins than the new Xface 1.2?
