can not turn off then on (can not start time shifting) (1 Viewer)

If I use the TV on button to turn the TV on first time it is fine, I then turn it off and that is fine but when I try to turn it back on again it says the standard can not start time shifting or Unable to add StreamBuffer Sink filter error. Restarting media portal fixes this

Sorry this wont be much help but I am getting the same error when trying to record or timeshift and pulling my hair out for days as I cant seem to find the answer anywhere..

I also get the error cant connect to mpg2 pin when i try to watch tv after attempting to record or timeshift..

might help to illustrate that it is not just my problem. I had not seen that mpeg2 pin error when I posted but I have seen it since. I might have to try a later version, but my version was working (I actually had upgraded but rolled back when it didn't work) and I think there is supposed to be a new stable release soon

Just upgraded to latest SVN, the problem seemed to go away for a while but not long. its little things like this that take an otherwise good piece of software and make it entirely useless.

I dont know if this helps but I fixed my problem.

In the media portal install pack there are actually two files

the executable and an msi installer

I was only ever running the MSI for some reason.

You need to run the executable and let it run the MSI itself as it wasnt giving MP the right system access and not granting it access to the filters for timeshifting.

The reason I found this out is because I found when I run media portal as administrator timeshift worked. I thought it mist be an access rights thing with vista until I went back to the original install file and saw the exe there.

You are not running Vista but try reinstalling with the exe file and make sure both files are stored locally and unzipped.

I will try anyway, but the account I run media portal under has administrator privileges. I were under the impression that time shifting did not work at all any other way. I would prefer to change to a more restricted account so I will try reinstalling from the EXE.

I have just uninstallled and reinstalled the 0.2.2 with no SVN and it worked in the test (no grantees yet but so far so good). I did use the exe rather than the msi just in case it does make some difference.

I'm not sure if I were running a SVN version for any particular reason or if it just got that way, maybe for some minor reason or a plug-in.
