This is fully reproducable for me.
I can only timeshift/watch 1 tv channel before I get an unable to create/start graph error.
This is both in the tv plugin as manually timeshifting in the tv server.
Once I manually restart the tv service or restart the whole HTPC I can watch 1 channel once again.
This exact same setup did work on 1.0.2 for me, and 1.1 rc1 broke it for me, didn't use any of the svn's so don't know when it started to get broken.
Everything else works like a charm and it's more stable than before, it's this one and only error that stops from having a fully working htpc, and recording TV is my #1 priority as I'm working in the evenings when most of the interesting stuff is broadcasted.

I did try a reinstall where I selected to drop the database and everything but to no avail. Got no other tv card to test with I'm afraid.

This looks interesting:

Solution, open tvserver config with --DebugOptions and enable always reset graph after stop.
Somehow I couldn't find it, only other solutions that didn't help.

I do not understand the "fix" here. I too am having issue with opening the TV (turning the TV on from MyTV) after it's already been open once. I find having to restart TVService is the fix...

OK... so I was trying to jumpstart the issue I'm having. First off, you'll see I've built a new system and installed an ATi USB ATSC tuner that works fine the first time I go to MyTV and turn it on. Once I turn off the TV I get an UNKNOWN ERROR popup window if I try to turn the TV back on. Same goes for scheduled recordings. IF I restart the TV service I'm good for one mor operation of the TV tuner. I see a graph in the Server that gets cleared and regenerated each time I'm successful at opening the TV but merely deleting the file (after turning off the TV) does not reset whatever is not being cleared.

I know the OP here was referring to timeshifting, but isn't turning on the TV sorta the same thing? It begins a time-shifting as it gathers the tv stream...

Ask away if the logs aren't sufficient and be gentle, it's a new system and I'm trying Win7 Premium.

    Thanks

    Can't tune same channel back-to-back

OK... so I found that the issue wasn't requiring a TVService restart, exactly, but that I could not tune the same channel without getting an "UNKNOWN ERROR" popup window! If I change channels from inside the tv window I'm fine, and if I turn the TV off and go to the TV Guide and select another channel (than was last tuned) it's fine.

    Logs attached...

OK, so even with MP 1.1.0 RC2 I'm still unable to tune back-to-back without getting an Unknown Error Occurred. I was hoping someone could look at the last 30+ lines where I am able to tune a channel, switch off TV and switch it back on thereby getting the error.

Since you are still having problems, have you tried this fix?

    Can't record Back-to-Back recordings

Thanks Mark, but as I was explaining, no. I couldn't find where to select the Debug Options the poster was speaking about.

    I'd like to explain, I don't think this is a TV-Service issue, but instead I think it's a TV-tuning issue...

Today I was trying to focus on this "bug" and I say this as the 7MC can reopen the same channel viewing another file in-between. Also, I installed another ATSC tuner, my ATi HDTV-Wonder... I had to reboot the PC twice before Win7 located all the drivers it needed but once installed I went into MP-TV-Server and got it installed as well. By setting the priorities I could adjust which of my ATSC tuners would be used first and I use separate HDDs for recording. I found this issue to be repeatable even with this other ATSC tuner! In fact, it would fail to tune the first tuner and attempt the other one before it would say: Unable toi Start Graph

I've found a bit of a work-around: if I set the Pre-Record time to 1 minute on a back-to-back record event then MP plays nicely - recording to two files during the overlap and not having issue with the tuner I've described in this thread. I don't want this to be a solution - please review the logs and see if you can understand this. Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,

I believe that you are experiencing the ATSC tuning issue (under Windows 7) that myself and another member are also experiencing. There is more detail in this thread:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...d-watch-consecutive-shows-same-channel-76455/

whurlston found a fix, but it required a code change that may not be ideal, but at least it works. This code still has not made it into Mediaportal so you will need to compile your own code; if you are not able to do this send me a pm and I can compile MP with the patch and provide a replacement TVLibrary.dll that should fix your problem.

Mark, you mentioned that the devs had been notified of the patch, did you ever hear anything back?
