Hi,
I installed yesterday the aMPdroid remote on my tablet, but unfortunalty I can't get it connected to Media-Portal. I read a couple of threads and discarded eventual warnings in the LOG files, but nothing works.

My configuration:
Windows XP SP3 workstation - up to date
MP 1.2.3 with TV-Server on the same machine
aMPdroid installed on a Medion tablet with Android up to date

aMPdroid installation:
Went step by step thru the aMPdroid setup on the wiki:
1. installed .NET Framework 4.0
2. installed MPExtended and setup with a video found on the wiki
3. installed WifiRemote and downloaded Bonjour through MP Extensions Installer
4. installed aMPdroid and setup with a video found on the wiki

The problem is that the aMPdroid on the tablet cannot connect to MediaPortal (button on the bottom right corner remains red)

What I did/checked:
- firewall turned off
- AV turned off
- authentication turned off
- fixed IP address on the workstation running MP
- IP address setup in aMPdroid = IP address of WS with MP
- Mac ID in aMPdroid is the same as WS with MP
- Apple update software tells that Bonjour is at its latest version (1.0.6)
- aMPdroid version is the one from yesterday's android market
- MPExtended version is 0.4.3
- MPExtended Service logs only has 12 DEBUG and 1 INFO rows when turning on
- MPExtended Service Configurator log has only DEBUG and INFO logs as well

I noticed that MPExtended took between 95 and 100% of the CPU usage when I stopped the service and restarted it. I deinstalled it and reinstalled it and it runs fine since then; but not sure it still will!

I didn't find any tutorial to setup Wifiremote, but I thing it's rather straight forward; only need to download and install Bonjour.

So my biggest problem now is to connect aMPdroid to MP.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated ...

Thanks for your help

:)

yes, but as it didn't work, I disabled the authentication to make sure this wasn't causing the problem with the connection.

If you can't get it working yet, wait until we release the next version (hopefully) this weekend...

It's a pita to troubleshoot with versions that we haven't used in so long... ;)

    Thanks for your answer DieBagger.

I couldn't get it work yet. But I'll wait for the next release and try with that one. I'll let you know the outcome.

    :)
