\SQLEXPRESS and ip in gentle.config
I've used for months TVServer (1 client on the same machine and another client on the network).
Database hosted by MySQL
Recently I've re-installed all my server machine and I've tried MS SQL
I ran in the "connected to tv server" and "unable to connect to database" with my network client machine now !
I've tried another notebook as client with the same result.
Modified gentle.config with no \SQLEXPRESS string on the server and the client was able o connect to the database......... BUT no channels shown into the miniEPG.
Changed gentle.config with the ip address of my server machine instead of its name and now works everythig fine and faster than ever.
my gente.config is now for example
"192.168.1.98\SQLEXPRESS
Thanks
Daniele
I then modified the connection string in gentle.config that sits on the server machine (Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Tv Media Portal\) - removing the \SQLEXPRESS in the 'Default Provider' string.
The client server link works!!!!![]()
