The problem suddenly started last sunday, before that everything was working ok. But now when i try to enter "My TV" I get a screen telling me "please specify the ip addres or host name of the master tv service" but it already has the name of my server (single seat) if I re-enter the name i get the following error-message: connected to tvserver unable to connect to database.

I have reinstalled everything, Mediaportal, TV-server, even MS SQL but the problem remains, today before I posted this I tried to run MediaPortal as Administrator and then it works. Tried again as "normal user" and the problem is there again.

Hate to say this, i tried every variation to get MP to work as a user in Vista, at some point it failed, whether it was a plugin that UAC did not like or TVServer just not connecting errors.

Spent about 4 days on this, ended up just installing as full admin account (needs to be enabled) and original account deleted on first install of Vista and yes UAC is turned on, but no more nagging messages :)

Heres the link if you want to go down this road.

Ok, thanks for the response, although it wasn't really the response I was hoping for. I think I will just wait and see, the admin thing doesn't seem like the right way to go.
