    Hello everyone,

I just got a Vizio S4251w-B4 system and have it connected to my HTPC via the motherboard optical port (Toslink). I wanted to take advantage of the bitstreaming that the LAV audio decoder allows, however I cannot control the volume. Is this a feature of bitstreaming? Right now I have the speakers turned up and use the volume control of windows to control the volume. I am using MP 1.4 and windows 8.

    Thanks

Yeah, changing the volume would change the bit-stream, so by definition it wouldn't be bit-streaming.
Unless you have a full receiver with audio processing capabilities that can only be applied to a digital stream, there probably isn't a whole lot of benefit to bit-streaming for you.
