    Hello Dave

    1. I recorded a program yesterday using advanced record with a post record of 45 min. It did not post record.
I'm not able to help with this because you haven't specified:
    1. The name of the program.
    2. The date and time of the recording.
Note, due to time zones, "today" and "yesterday" can be a completely different date for me in New Zealand and you in America. This leaves me uncertain as to what date you actually mean. Please specify the date (eg. 29 November) rather than saying "today" or "yesterday".

    2. Today I set a recording to begin at 12 noon local time and it did not begin until about 1:30pm. The program is recording now and the log is attached. The system clock is correct and shows correctly on the MP screen.
    Again, please be more specific:
    1. What date is "today"? Right now in New Zealand it is 30 November, but I guess you actually mean 29 November???
    2. What is the name of the program?
I don't like to guess, but I guess you mean "College Football" at 12 noon on 29 November???

You have two recordings scheduled to start at 12 noon on 29 November:
    [2014-11-29 11:59:04,750] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 15 WBRADT 11:59 AM-12:30 PM Growing a Greener World
[2014-11-29 11:59:05,800] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 13 WSETDT 11:59 AM-3:00 PM College Football

Only one of these can succeed because you only have one tuner. In this case, the "Growing a Greener World" recording succeeded.
So, the "College Football" recording is prevented from starting until at least 12:30 PM.

At 12:29 PM another recording starts on WBRADT:
    [2014-11-29 12:29:14,895] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 15 WBRADT 12:29 PM-1:00 PM Victory Garden's edibleFEAST

This is only possible because WBRADT is the channel that "Growing a Greener World" is recording from.
That recording further delays "College Football" from starting until at least 1:00 PM.

At 12:59 PM another recording starts on the same WBRADT channel:
[2014-11-29 12:59:09,774] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 15 WBRADT 12:59 PM-1:30 PM The American Woodshop

That recording further delays "College Football" from starting until at least 1:30 PM.

"The American Woodshop" stops at 1:31 PM:
    [2014-11-29 13:31:05,224] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: stop record 15 WBRADT 11/29/2014 12:59:10 PM-11/29/2014 1:30:00 PM The American Woodshop

Finally the Colossus is free to start recording "College Football"... so that's what happens:
[2014-11-29 13:31:05,999] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 13 WSETDT 1:31 PM-3:00 PM College Football
    ...
    [2014-11-29 13:31:09,829] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - StartRecording to D:\TimeShift\College Football - 13 WSETDT - 2014-11-29.ts

    3. I cannot find reference anywhere to the screen that notifies one of overlapping recordings that are inadvertently being scheduled. Can you point me in the right direction?
You should be notified about conflicting recordings when you create a new schedule that generates conflicts. You're expected to decide what to do to resolve the conflict(s) at that time. Therefore it should not be possible to inadvertently schedule overlapping/conflicting recordings. Therefore there is no screen to notify about overlapping recordings for existing schedules.

    4. A technical question. I have a single seat setup using one tuner. Programs are set to start 1 min ahead of time. I have observed that when two consecutive programs are recorded, BOTH seem to record during the overlap period. I am just wondering how this is done with a single tuner or is it really happening.
    Yes, it is really happening.
For a Colossus or HD-PVR, it is only possible to record overlapping programs with one Colossus/HD-PVR when the programs are shown on the same channel. You can see this happening with the previously discussed "Growing a Greener World", "Victory Garden's edibleFEAST" and "The American Woodshop" programs. The pre/post recordings are successful because all of those programs ran on the same WBRADT channel.

Thank you again for these details.

    1) the program referred to was Friday, 11/28 starting at 8pm on one of the ESPN, College Football.

    2) You guessed correctly! Now, because, on the program guide, These channels do not appear together on the screen, I was unaware of this conflict and missed part of the program. This is the reason for question #3 because this happens often if I don't remember to scroll down through the guide to see if conflicts have been created.

    3) I have never had a warning about scheduling two recordings simultaneously. How can I fix this?

    4) Thanks for these details, I guessed this was happening although I can't visualize technically how this is actually done.

Let me know if you need another log for the conflict issue if you would.

    Dave

Okay, well that program did not start recording until 8:30 PM due to another recording:
[2014-11-28 19:59:05,380] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 353 BLOOM 7:59 PM-8:30 PM With All Due Respect

[2014-11-28 19:59:09,639] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 206 ESPNHD 7:59 PM-11:00 PM College Football
    ...
[2014-11-28 19:59:09,648] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Controller: card:4 type:Analog is not available, tuned to different transponder

[2014-11-28 20:31:04,566] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: Time to record 206 ESPNHD 8:31 PM-11:00 PM College Football
    ...
    [2014-11-28 20:31:09,116] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler : record to D:\TimeShift\College Football - 206 ESPNHD - 2014-11-28.ts

It did record until 11:45 PM as configured (note the time):
    [2014-11-28 23:45:11,082] [Log ] [scheduler thread] [INFO ] - Scheduler: stop record 206 ESPNHD 11/28/2014 8:31:09 PM-11/28/2014 11:00:00 PM College Football

    So, I don't know how/why you think that the 45 minute post-record didn't occur.

    3) I have never had a warning about scheduling two recordings simultaneously. How can I fix this?
    Try this patch:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ding-broadcastings.127995/page-5#post-1105299

Note the patch should be applied to the MediaPortal install directory, not the TV Server install directory.

    4) Thanks for these details, I guessed this was happening although I can't visualize technically how this is actually done.
It is done simply by copying the output/stream from the Colossus to two (or more) files.

Thanks mm, The patch seems to have fixed the conflict notification, something I have never seen before!

Unfortunately I have deleted the program with the post record, perhaps it started late, I don't know, but it terminated before the of the gave.

I will watch this more carefully in future.

mm, Just trying to find out if it is me or MP causing small issues.

When I have MP on the SHOW RECORDED PROGRAMS screen, it does not seem to refresh when a recording starts or finishes.

If I leave it on this screen over night, for example, any newly recorded programs do not show. My work around has been to go back to the opening screen and then return to RECORDED PROGRAMS and that seems to force a refresh of all the options to view.

Is this by design or is it operator error? Many thanks, Dave
