Cannot find channels on HDHomerun (1 Viewer)

I just installed 1.9 to check if I can us it for my HTPC. Did that a few years ago too and you came a long way. A very long way. Looking very slick!

I have a 4 tuner HDHomerun (network tuner) wich works great in Mediacenter. In the software from Silicondust every channel is found, but I can't find any channel using the TV channel configurator from MP. It finds the signal, but after some time tells me there is nothing found.

On the site from HDHomerun it is stated that you have to change the channel numbers in the HDHomerun software before entering MP. That must be done according to a site called Zap2it. I've checked it, but that's only about American channels. I'm in Europe (Netherlands).

I've also taken a new transponderfile for my cable company (Caiway Midden Holland) and put it in the right spot. Now searching for channel takes longer, but still nothing found. Hope someone has this combination working.

About the "nothing found" problem...
I suspect that a firewall is blocking TV Server from receiving the stream from the tuner. Please can you configure your security software (don't forget Windows' firewall) to allow TV Server to access the network, so that it can use the tuner properly.

Just out of curiousity.... Why does MediaPortal open only the public ports during installation?

Over the years there have been conflicting reports about whether MP does or does not configure the firewall properly. From the code, it looks like there is an option as part of the installer to have the installer configure the firewall. I wonder whether that option was enabled during your installation?
Aside from that, I have no answer. It should configure the firewall properly...

It did half. Only for public networks.

It is working great. Now I'm gonna look for skins, but I allready like the standard. Nice colour scheme.
