Cannot find or add to playlist (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I'm using MP-TVSeries V3.3.1 and I'm not able to add shows to the playlist even if I'm able to select "add to playlist" in the menu.
I also tried to list available playlists from the MP-TVSeries menu and there was none. If I go to the Mediaportal videos, I can create, play and list playlists, but list comes empty (with no playlist message) in MP-TVSeries.
Playlist folder in the pluging config is the same as in media portal and there are ".m3u" files in the folder created by media portal.

After you add items to playlist, use hidden menu "View Current Playlist" to see those items.

I tried that but still came out empty. Should the title be played if click on it? or the only action you can do in the plugin is add to playlist? I'm asking because there is no action when click on the title (show).

To add:

Inside MP-TVSeries you stand on a series, season or episode and then F9 -> "Add To Playlist" or you can use '3' on your remote control numerical pad to instantly activate the feature as it is the number infront of the menu item.​

To use:

Inside MP-TVSeries bring up hidden menu (left arrow on default skin) and select "Current Playlist"​

All the items you added are shown on a per episode basis, you can then still arrange the order (via the up/down arrows), delete individual items (via the 'X'), or simply press 'OK' to begin playback when the episode title is selected.​

Optional settings that would come into play:

MP-TVSeries configuration -> "Views/Filers" tab and scroll to the bottom for the "Playlist View" section.​

"Repeat/Loop episodes in playlist" option does the obvious and works on both real playlists as well as current playlist​

"Auto play playlist when loaded from file" more meant for a real playlist file with music videos for example​

"Auto shuffle playlist when loaded" more meant for a real playlist file with music videos for example​

"Only Add Unwatched Items to playlist view on Series/Season views" <--- perhaps you have this one selected like me, which is extremly handy when you want to resume playlist from last place you left after you cleared playlist (or restarted system). However this also means that when everything is already watched, nothing gets added. Quite possibly thats the problem you are running into, so to fix that you simply F9 the series/season/episode and toggle the watched flag to unwatched first and then add to playlist.​

Thanks for the info. It looks that there might be a problem with the pluggin, since I tried all you mention and I can not even play a selected title; or add to playlist/show empty (current playlist); or see any other playlist created by Mediaportal within the pluggin (same playlist folder).
Mediaportal is working since I can do all this stuff within Mediaportal Video but not in the MP-TVSeries pluggin.

Do you know by any chance if there is a issue with the versions? I'm using MP-TVSeries v3.3.1.1954, MediaPortal v1.2.3.0, I tired 2 different skins (BlackGlass Nova HD v1.2.0.0 and Default Wide 1.2.0.0)

Will it help if I uninstall the pluggin and install it again?

I've been lazy on upgrading MediaPortal, so I'm still on v1.2.1.0, but that should make no difference. And eventhough I initially tested it on v3.3.0 of MP-TVSeries, I just updated to v3.3.1 to be sure, but it works fine for me as per the explained steps mentioned before.

So the only error I can forsee is that you enter hidden menu -> "Playlist" and not "Current Playlist", because if you are indeed added unwatched episodes, it should "just work".

If it still does not work, then I think you are dealing with database corruption. A reinstall would not fix that, because it would (re)use the same database.

For a test, open up your MediaPortal "User Files" shortcut and go to the "database" folder. In there you will find "TVSeriesDatabase4.db3", which you should rename to like "TVSeriesDatabase4 (Possibly Corrupt).db3" or something. Then open up MP-TVSeries configuration again and it will recreate a fresh new database file. This does mean you have to setup everything, so since this is a test you could only setup a new import path that points to a folder holding say 5 new TV episodes, or you could just reimport your entire collection. Be sure to go over all the settings again to make sure they match your preference if you prefer to redo everything, but if this is just to test, then you could leave it at default settings.

Then try to add to playlist one of those 5 episode (or all), and see if they show up then.

If everything then works, then you had indeed a database corruption and then its a matter of possibly restoring a backup that did not have the problem in it, or to indeed start all over. And frankly unless you made a massive amount of custom modifications, it really should not take very long. The only loss will be date-added, because when you start over every episode that gets reimported is added "right then". As far as watched status goes, hopefully you are using either the Follw.it or Trakt.tv plugins to sync that information online, so that it will be restored when you sync up on the new import.

You were right, looks like the database was corrupted. Just in case I uninstall pluggin, manually deleted the database and folders, install, run config and all worked.
