Cannot get VGA monitor to work (1 Viewer)

Hello there,

I can't seem to get my monitor next to the tower to turn on. It is connected via VGA, and my TV is connect DVI-HDMI. My tv views the computer, but VGA does not. Any ideas why? I've tried changing the resolution of the second screen to fit the ratio, but still won't come up?

is this MP related or just in general...

Does the VGA work if HDMI is not connected?
are both ports connected to the same video card?

Is the second monitor detected by windows?

I'm afraid there just isn't enough information to even guess what the problem could be.

The second monitor just shows the monitor info and says no source.

Does the VGA work if HDMI is not connected?

Nope. But DVI to the monitor works when I unplug my TV. I just won't receive VGA signal.

Yes they are both on the same video card with one VGA and one DVI output.

Is the second monitor detected by windows?

Well when I go to the display settings it shows that there is 1 & 2 but when I select 2 it doesn't say there's a monitor connected, but let's me change the resolution.
