This now occurs for me using the latest MP, 0.2.3.0. They are MP4s and used to play fine. They still play fine using Nero Showtime but no longer in MP.

Make sure that .mp4 is added to mpsetup\movies\movie extensions and also check under music\file extensions that .mp4 is NOT there.

I fixed my issue by re-installing the Nero "Digital MP4" plugin. I have had to do this twice so far... This is odd as I never had these issues before. I wonder what in MP is buggering the Nero software configuration?

    Hope this helps,

I have the same problem with the latest version of mp per 01.12.07 (have'nt actually tried any older versions.) I have tested the solutions here, with no luck. I also restored the computer, but the problem persist. may this have something to do with the vga-card driver?

    did anyone find a solution?

I will try to uninstall and install rc3

    :D

I couldn't play some AVIs under MP, but they did play in WMP9. Other AVIs did play in MP.

Installed ffdshow after seeing this forum.

Now can play the recalcitrant AVIs. :D

(I actually replied to a different thread, and the post ended up here!!!)
