For some reason my Mediaportal won't play MKV/H264 files anymore, I'm getting the error as shown in the attachment. I can play the files fine in MPC-HC

I've been trying to solve this issue all day, to no avail so any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried installing SAF 4.00 and have tried a number of codecs (including ATi Avivo, ffdshow, DivX h264 and others) but it still won't play MKV/h264 files. However my TV HD channels are working fine, and I've set videos and tv to use the same codecs. I've also tried switching between EVR and VMR9 and disabling subtitles.

Use (setup) MPC video decoder for local h.264, not ffdshow.

Solved it by uninstalling SAF and installing CCCP instead. I wasn't able to select MPC as codec after that for H.264 but I was able to pick Cyberlink for h264 and MPC for mpeg2. So ta least I still have GPU decoding for my h264 files :)

AW: Cannot play MKV or H264 trough mediaportal

As you have a really good Radeon Card i would suggest you to use Ati Catalyst 9.5 driver
and powerdvd9 h264 and mpeg 2 codec for playing video and tv.
