Hello everyone,
my htpc is running quite fine, only one thing is driving me crazy: with PowerScheduler++ (doesn't matter which version, they all show the same behaviour) I'm able to schedule a tv record and everything is fine until the first schedule has gone. The system wakes up from sleeping (both "standard" and hybrid sleep) only once after a full reboot, so only the first record request gets fulfilled. If I schedule a second record in row, the system keeps on sleeping without waking up. Of course, if I don't put it in sleep mode and leave it running, both recordings are fine. It seems to me that the sleep timers aren't able to wake the system without first being reset after a reboot.

Anyone has experienced such behaviour?

Thanks

AW: Cannot record more than one time

Can you please activate "Extended logging" in the PowerScheduler's Advanced tab and try the two scheduled recordings again? The provided logs do not show enough information to identify the problem...

Hello Michael,
here you can find the logs.

As usual, the first wakeup was fine, whilst the second one didn'succeeded.

To get the second recording done, I had to kick the powerbutton to forcibly wakeup my htpc.

Hope you can find the issue.

Have a nice day

Thank you for the logs. As far as I could see from them you scheduled one manual recording for 8:00, suspended your system and waited for the wakeup (which was successful at 7:59). Then you cancelled the recording, scheduled a new manual recording for 8:10 and suspended your system again. At 8:10 it did not wakeup as expected but you started it manually at 8:14. Is this correct?

Right, Michael.

Although the schedules were very close, I can confirm you that the same behaviour is shown also with more "relaxed" timings.

Of course my htpc is only waken up every time I want to watch something, so I cannot plan any recording without having to remember to reboot the system after some time. Very annoying.

Thank you very much for your support.

Could you try the same test when all the other plugins (WebEPG, ...) are deactivated? There is another user running WebEPG having problems with wakeup too. It would be interesting, if there are side effects with those plugins...

Hi Michael,
unfortunately the only plugin selected, other than PS++, is XMLtv.

After having unselected it, this morning I've done the same test.

The result was the same, missing the second recording (only a manual wakeup could allow the htpc to fulfill the request).

I'll try to dig into your suggestion, to find if there is something else preventing multiple wakeups....

Thank you for now.

Did you try the PS++ alpha version? Maybe it helps ...

Good luck

Sorry, Michael.

The latest alpha (tested yesterday evening) wasn't different.

At this point I think there's something in the background that affects system behaviour after the first wake (or second sleep), or even after a schedule cancel.

I'm willing to stress test the full sleep-wakeup-schedule cycle by testing wakeup timers in my system, but I'd like to know how do you deal with them (maybe you place a call to schtasks.exe from windows?).

Thank you

Nicola

Are you using DVB EPG grabbing? If so, try to disable it and try again.
