Cannot stop Playback of Recording (1 Viewer)

Steps to reproduce:
-Start recording a program via schedule or manually in guide but do not timeshift.
-Select that program in the guide and select to playback from beginning.

I cannot stop the playback through the remote or keyboard. Change channel also fails to stop the playback. The only way to get it to stop is to go to the start menu and playback a video that is stored on the hard disk, then stop that.

-highlight the tv program that is recording
-bring up the options menu (on mce remote i/more button)
-select edit recording
-select don't record
-select yes (note: this does not delete what has been recorded up to this point)

Thanks for your help though this doesn't achieve what I want to do because it stops recording the program. I did find a way around this problem by selecting play from live point and then skipping back to the start.

I'm running a dedicated TV server on another machine and the specs listed above are from the client machine.
