Can't change skin anymore after StreamedMP was used once (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have a strange problem here. I installed StreamedMP (great great skin by the way) and have been using it for weeks now.
But, being curious, I wanted to try another skin. So I installed the maya skin, and switched to it in the config program.
Then I launched MP, and it got stuck at the "loading graphics" part (Can't remember the exact message), hard disk went nuts, full activity for a few minutes, then I got a message "out of memory".

So I thought the Maya skin was the cause, uninstalled it, tried StreamedMP again, worked fine.

Then I switched to Blue3 Wide, and same problem occurred : hard disk going nuts when starting MP, and finally " out of memory".

I then tried other skins and had the same problem. Only StreamedMP works now.

On another PC, all skins worked ok. I installed StreamedMP, and bingo, same problem occurred afterwards.

Can anybody help on this ? Did anybody experience the same problem ?

I am using MP 1.1.0, latest SVN to date.

Thanks a lot for your help

Could be caused by Moving pictures 1.0 beta 2 (which when running announces itself as 1.0.1). They switched to PNG backdrops, which MP start to cache. There is a workaround to prevent this for new skins. But that's probably what happens when you install the new skins. MP starts caching the graphics and runs out of memory because of Moving Pictures.

Now the good news is.... Moving Pictures 1.0 beta 3 is out (announces itself as 1.0.2) and the problem is fixed.

You can either start MP in StreamedMP and let it run for a while. Moving Pics then transforms all your backdrops. Or like me, you can just delete the whole folder with Moving Pics thumbs (locate in Programdata/Team mediaportal/mediaportal/thumbs I think) and let Moving Pics download them again.

Now you should be able to switch skins again.

Now that's good news:)

I will update Moving Pictures and delete the thumbs manually.
Thanks a lot for the detailed infomation :D
