Can't seem to get MP1.0.1 to connect to the TVServer. All previous installation steps worked fine, TVService is running, can preview channels, etc, but in MP when select MyTV it always asks me for the Server name, and when given it (MediaCenter\SQLExpress in my case) it always says "Some ports seems to be blocked" (ports 31456, 554, 1433 & 1434). Also says Unable to connect to the server, unable to connect to the database, and Please check firewall.

I've tried turning of Windows firewall (Vista), no difference; I've manually added all ports to exception list, no difference; I've added/confirmed TVService, SQLBrowser and SQLServr all added to exceptions, no difference.

Has anybody found a way around this firewall issue? Scoured the forum but not found the answer yet, except for the suggestion to scrap VIsta and go back to XP.

Had the same issue here, using MySQL. I solved it by running the TV configuration and it asked for the database settings again. Having that set-up it worked again.
Hope it helps you guys!
