Hi.
Most often the EPG did not contain correct series information. Best is to use xmltv plugin and prepare the tvguide.xml with the tool "Episodes2TVGuide" before you import it into MP2. So you will have well prepared series information directly in the MP2 EPG.
Aside this you don't need to add the sources separately. On first save of the TV Configuration the corresponding media sources are added automatically. The folder defined in the "single" custom file name will be added as type "movie" and the "series" folder is added as type "series"...
MP2 only can add your episodes to the Series module if your recordings are containing proper season and episodes numbers in the filename... A working example (the one I'm using) is : "Series\%title%\S%series%E%episode% - %name%" where the "S%series%E%episode%" part ist the most important one for the file name. The rest like %name% did not matter at all. And the folder always has to be "%title%". By the way, %series% is for season and %title% is for the series. Don't know why, but this is ever since the TVE exists.
All proper recognized series episodes are now shown in the Series module with full fanart and! in "Recordings" (thumbnails only). All proper recognized movies now are shown in the Movies modules with full fanart and! in "Recordings" (thumbnails only).
If something don't show up in series or movies module most likely the EPG data was not correct or did not contain enough information to identify the movie/episode... If this happens you need to rename/prepare the files manually or with a tool like tMM, Ember or MKV-Buddy
