    Hello All! I'm turning an old computer into a HTPC as a gift for my mother, mainly as a LiveTV and DVR, and I've got live TV working, but I cannot seem to get the EPG working at all. When I go to the EPG screen from Live TV, it shows as "No data available"

    I went to the Wiki, then through the Quick TV setup and the EPG setup; I believe it reported no errors, but still no luck. I also tried install WebEPG plugin and configuring it, but it does not work either.

    My setup:
    Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
    2GB RAM
    Haupaugge HVR-1850 with MCE Remote
    160GB HD
    64GB Crucial SSD

    I'm new to MediaPortal, but I've been using XBMC for a few months and Windows for years....Thank you for any help you can provide!

    Hi and welcome pmgmr2 :)

    So you're attempting to use WebEPG, yes? I would first suggest changing the "write programs to" setting on the "general" tab to something other than "TV Server database" so that you can easily check whether the data is being retrieved correctly. XMLTV files are just XML files in a particular format - they can be opened in any text editor (notepad, wordpad, word etc.). Please confirm that the data is retrieved correctly and then we'll take it from there...

    Thank you for the warm welcome! I did as you said, then ran the TV channel automap function of WebEPG, and finally turned on mediaportal and let it run for about an hour, but when I looked in the tvguide.xml file, all I saw was some heading information, listed below:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE tv SYSTEM "xmltv.dtd">
    <tv generator-info-name="WebEPG" />

    I'm guessing its not working....?

    Yes, I'm guessing whichever grabber you have selected is not working or not configured correctly.

    I absolutely agree. I completely disabled the WebEPG plugin, went back to using the built-in "DVB EPG" but I'm still not getting any channel information. Moreover, the only configuration options available are in the TV Server setup, correct?

    pmgmr2 i see you are from the USA and the grabber xml that MediaPortal supplies for us here in the USA doesn't work.
    Take a look at the first post in this thread ( https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...om-grabber-file-adds-subtitle-support.108360/ ) it has a new grabber xml and instructions attached and they work, i'm using it now.

    The only problem with it is it doesn't get series episode numbers, it does get series episode names however.
