Can't get folder thumbnails to show (3 Viewers)

Needless to say, thumbs now appeared in folder view as well. I think there should be enough
information now to reproduce the problem without additional logs from me. But I can create them as needed (I may have to reinstall MP from scratch for that since now thumbs seem to be ok).

Well as I sum up what has happened I unfortunately do not see the issue. Maybe you can tell again what exactly went wrong?


Obviously MP is working exactly as it is supposed to. The initial worries were caused by the fact that your folder thumb cache was empty. So our goal should be to track down why this has happened as MP does create it fully automatically when scanning the music collection. Therefore the most likely reason for this is some move or purge action by the user, isn't it?

1. Have collection laid out differently than default setting in 'Music import'\Custom path and filenames' (default: %artist%\%album%\%track% %title%), my layout is %artist%\%year% - %album%\%track% %title%
2. Do 'Update database from selected shares'
3. Folder thumbnails are not created in 'thumbs\Music\Folders'. View by Share does not show any thumbnails.
4. All other thumbs are created correctly
5. Modify layout in 'Music import'\Custom path and filenames' to match actual layout of files.
6. Repeat step 2. At this point, I wanted to say that folder images are created, however, I can't get it to happen anymore.

On top of that, it seems that some (but not all) folders that have folder.jpg in them have their cover art copied to thumbs\Music\Folder.

I just installed 0.2.2 version from year ago, went through the same set up process and all thumbs got created correctly.

I have a similar problem. Artist thumb is fine, Album thumb doesn't show. Drill into the album and all the tracks have the correct thumb. Just not showing at Album level.

0.2.3 no svn.

Got the same problem, with album artist view, when you get to album artist, no thumbs on albums... help

Hi guys...

i got a similar problem.
Every covers get created correctly, BUT i just see *_all_* of them in every view-type except the list view.

i know a very strange sentence... but i mean, i see all my covers in "small symbols" view (free translation from german) "big symbols" and "cover"-view but not in list view.
searched the whole net to find answers but didn't find anything.
Some albums have a covers in list view, but i can't find out why those have one, and others don't.
All folders work in different view-types.

maybe someone here knows an answer...

Same problem here.

Have folders:

\\GX270\Shared Media I\movies\children and \\GX270\Shared Media II\movies\parents

These two folders each have a folder.jpg file plus a folder for each movie. Each movie folder has a folder.jpg file with the coverart.

In My Video, Film strip view, the folder thumbs (folder.jpg) are not showing, one level down the movie thumbs show fine (from the folder.jp file not from the movie DB).

In My Video, List view, the folder thumbs DO show ...

IIRC the generic method which applies thumbnails to folders does only respect local drives. I guess this had been done to prevent slowness while using FTP shares, etc.

This IIRS stuff is over my head, but it is maybe noteworthy that this problem has disappeared since I moved back to 0.2.2.0 ...
