I've got a strange issue! I recently updated to ...

MediaPortal 1.3.0.0 Alpha
MovingPictures 1.4.0.148
StreamedMP 1.8.0.3157

As far as I know, there is 2 places I can set the VIEW for my Movies. Inside MediaPortal and in the MovingPictures configuration settings. I set them both to "Thumbnail/Poster" view --- and when I set them, I do get the Thumbnail/Poster view. However, anytime I restart MediaPortal, it reverts back to "List" view.

This never happened before. For over an year or so that I've had MediaPortal --- I only set this once to Thumbnail view and no matter if I restarted MediaPortal or the HTPC Machine itself, it always stayed as Thumbnail view. Now, no matter what I do, it keeps reverting back to List view.

This is how I have it in the 2 places:

MovingPictures Configuration

MediaPortal Configuration

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Still not working.

Changed "Poster View" to "Last Used View" in MovingPictures configuration. Set view to "Thumbnail" from within MediaPortal; display changes to Thumbnail view.

Closed & restarted MediaPortal --- Back to "List" view.

    And where are the logs?

    Test 1:
    1. start MP Configuration
    2. Videos
    3. Video Folders
    4. edit folder
    5. change "default layout" from "list" to "coverflow"
    6. okay
    7. okay
    8. restart MP configuration
Result: Setting "coverflow" has been remembered.

    Test 2:
    1. start MediaPortal
    2. Videos
    3. change view from "List" to "big icon"
    4. close MP
    5. start mp
    6. Videos
Result: Setting "big icon" has been remembered.

NOTE: The "default layout"is only applied on folders you never accessed before! This is not a global switch that will change all folders views! If you enter a folder and manually change the view, then MP will remember this custom setting for that folder!
If you want to reset MP's "memory" which view you want for which folder, then you must delete the FolderDatabase3.db3 !

If your issue is limited to MovingPictures, then you should ask the author. ;)

    another setting is:
mp config -> gui -> remember last selected item/screen in plugin
That option has nothing to do with the "view".
It will bring you back to the last used screen before your shutdown the system.

THAT DID IT!! YOU DID IT!!

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

You're a genius man. See, I wouldn't have figured this out. I never knew there was a setting like this in MovingPictures. My feeling is (And I could be wrong), considering I never struggled with this issue before until I updated to the latest MovingPictures ... They may have the changed the default setting on a new installation from "Last Used" to "List View" over there. Not sure.

Either way - It works!! Thanks again.
