I'm trying to install TV3 on a single computer, but when I go through the first time TV-Engine 0.3 config & try to test the database server settings, it won't connect to the database. It comes up with an error about logon failed for user sa even though I use the correct password. For hostname, I use htpc, the name of the computer. Do I have to put in an IP address? I believe it's set for DHCP. My modded xbox is able to logon to the computer, so I'd hate to mess with the IP address & make things worse.

Enter the SQl surface area configuration, stop the service, then enable the "using both named pipes and ip" for connections, apply the setting and restart the service, then try again.

Uninstall and separate install worked

Hi

thanks for your reply - which I must admit I didnt understand - but I uninstalled everything - and then re-installed mssql server separately and then installed media portal.

It seemed to scan thru the channels ok but I see nothing on My Tv
. Also the screen is only appearing full screen whch seems a bit odd - to me and my boss.
