Hi,, I've seen lots of people posting about this from a while ago but nothing recent.
I can put a DVD in the drive and play with VLC, however under Media portal selecting play disc just brings up a black screen. I think it cant display the menu however I'm not sure if this is the problem or not and I don't know what to do about it.
I would appreciate some help or a link to point me in the right direction. The wife wants this running to keep the kids entertained

Running Mediaportal 1.8
Windows 8.1
Processor i7 4790K processor
Video Radeon R7 240 card
Fresh install
Codecs are just standard

can you check if " Decode DVD" is checked in LavSplitter Vidéo codec
and try to uncheck auto set decoder.
also try to select " default direct source" as audio output for DVD

Have you tried enabling the "turn off DxVA..." option?

I cannot find the "Decode DVD" option when i open the splitter settings. maybe its a different version?
    Auto set decoder is unchecked
    Thanks

I tried all these suggestions with no success.
I eventually solved it through Format C: and re-install.
A bit extreme but solved the issue (and another issue I was having with this PC)
