    My HTPC is running fine and I can see TV from it without problems, BUT....

    The other clients frequently get errors when trying to connect. Most often it is stream 2.0, but recently stream 4.0 has begun to come and also 2.1.

    The clients can run wothout any problems for days and then suddenly theese errors appears and then there is no TV from the clients for days. I have no clue how to fix it. Sometimes it is only one client but now it is both clients.

    I suspect it happens after a breakdown of the HTPC, but I am not completely sure - this time it happend after I accidentially took the power from the HTPC.

    I have posted the problem before in here, but never got a solution that works.

    I have tried to repair the TV DB with this:
    CD C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\bin
    mysqlcheck mptvdb --auto-repair -e -u root -p

    Didn't solve the problem.

    Please help.

    OK. Nobody seems to be able to help.
    Are there any other Databases I can try to repair? If so - how do I do that.
    It seems I have a general problem streaming from the server to the clients. I can't find any posts with same problem and hvae no knowlegde about SQL.

    Hi there,

    It looks like yout TV Server is having a problem:

    2012-03-29 08:23:40.127851 [TvClient-TvHome: HeartBeat transmitter thread(26)]: RemoteControl - Disconnected st : ved System.Environment.GetStackTrace(Exception e, Boolean needFileInfo)
    ved System.Environment.get_StackTrace()
    ved TvControl.RemoteControl.InvokeEvents()
    ved TvControl.RemoteControl.RefreshRemotingConnectionStatus()
    ved TvControl.RemoteControl.get_Instance()
    ved TvControl.TvServer.<IsAnyCardRecording>b__4()
    ved TvControl.WaitFor`1.Run(Func`1 function)
    ved TvControl.TvServer.IsAnyCardRecording()
    ved TvPlugin.TVHome.HeartBeatTransmitter()
    ved System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
    ved System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
    ved System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

    I'm not sure what would cause this..maybe a network issue?

    The TV Server is not capturing this as a error (ie the error log is empty).

    You will need a Dev to help with this one. :(

    Hi,

    I think the connection to your database is ok. The problem occurs when trying to open the tuned channel/recording.

    Are you running the same version of MP on both the client and server?

    From the log it looks like your client is trying to connect on RTSP port 0:

    Failed to open file:rtsp://MediaCenter:0/stream4.0 :0x80004005

    This should be 554 which makes me think RTSP hasn't initialized properly - could you possibly upload the logs from the server as well as the client?

    Thanks

    Hi again, thanks for the logs

    TV server is failing to bind to port 554, which means the streaming server cannot start:

    02-04-2012 20:27:09.478 Stream server:Failed to create RTSP server: bind() error (port number: 554): Unknown error

    Do you have anything else running on the server that could be using this port? It could also be some kind of security software blocking MP from binding it.

    You could try changing TV server to use a different port for RTSP (try something higher than 1024) - The option's in setuptv on the server somewhere, can't remember exactly where, but it'll be set to 554 by default. Note you may need to open this new port on the server's firewall

    Thank you miroslav! I changed the port no to 1200 on the server and everything worked immediately.
    I don't understand what could be wrong with the std. port. I have nothing but MP running on the server that I am aware of. I do have AVG antivirus running, but with a strange error when it tries to update. Maybe the problems are related?

    Anyway my clients are working again and I am a happy man ;)

    A follow up question: This happend right after power was lost on the server. Maybe a database holding the portnumber was not closed correctly. Is there some repair I should do?
