Can't record tv (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,

First i want to say that this is a very good program! Keep the good work going!! Ok, now my problem. I can watch tv, but i can't record anything. When i try to record something, the little screen turns black and the program is telling me that it is recording. Looked at the file and it has 0 bytes Strange because i can watch en record at the same time (if i must believe the products i have; below my specification of my computer etc). I like to record things so i hope you guys can help me out. Ok now i will show you my specs:

Hardware
Motherboard: Asus A8N-E
CPU: AMD 64+ 3500
MEM.: 1gig 400 mhz dual channel
VideoCard: Asus N6600 Silencer
Harddisc 80gig PATA and 250 gig SATA
TV-Card: Hauppauge PVR150 MCE
Windows XP proffesional

Mediaportal version: 0.2.0.0.RC1 (but it occurs also with lower versions)
SKIN: i tried every skin (4 standard)
Video codec: Mpeg2Dec Filter
Audio codec: MPEG/AC3?DTS/LPCM Audio Decoder
Video Render: tried all three of them: video mixing renderer 9 windowless
Deinterlace mode: none
Default zoom mode: normal

Ok that is it (i guess). I hope you guys can help my out (because i tried as much as possible, and also looked everywhere on the forum, but i didnt succeed).

i hope someone has any suggestions

I hope someone has any suggestions that i can try out, or that someone can tell me what is wrong and why i cant record anything. Anybody know why this happens??

Hi,

something visible in the logs? (/Team Media Portal/MediaPortal/logs/)
- start MP
- start a recording
- stop recording
- stop MP
- look into the logs

What drivers do you use for the PVR 150MCE?
Enough free space on your recordings drive? (Setup->Television->Card->Edit->Recording)

Hi Flip,

Thanx for responding. Ok here i got something... i found an error log. And there is the following error:
21-12-2005 22:19:24 mpeg2:FAILED to add Videoanalyzer (You need at least Windows XP SP1!!)
21-12-2005 22:19:24 mpeg2tartRecording() FAILED to create recording

I guess i need to install Windows xp Sp1. Ok I'm gonna look for that if that gonna help. I will keep you up to date.

It can't be the space of harddisc: 100gig free (at the recording path)
And im using the latest drivers of 150 PVR.
It should be teh Windows XP SP1.

Lets hope it will work than. Thanx for you help at this time (because of you i found the log-file).

thanx for your advice! I installed SP2 and i can record my tv now! Briljant.
I realy don't know why people don't install sp 2 :wink:
