Can't unmute the sound (1 Viewer)

I have MediaPortal running in a pretty stable state under Win 7 x64. I do get the odd BSOD when fiddling with the GUI but they are few and far between.

One thing that is driving me mad however is the inability to unmute the sound with the 'M' key. It always mutes perfectly but then I have to task switch and bring up the mixer to unmute the sound.

I'm using an i7-4770K CPU with a Z87M-Plus motherboard and using HDMI out to a surround sound amplifier and then a 55" Samsung TV.

Any ideas why the mute state shouldn't toggle with the 'M' key or is there another unmute key?

Just a pity it doesn't work as intended on my installation.
This usually works, so the fact that it doesn't on your install is an indication that something (ie. probably some other program) is blocking MP from unmuting or that there is an exceptional cause for MP failing to unmute.
Maybe you could post log files so we can see what happens when you mute/unmute?

If we can see any errors in the MP log files then we can hopefully track down the problem; if we don't see any errors we know the cause is external to MP.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply. When I run the debug version I see a list of strings along the bottom of the screen saying things like #itemname #toplabel1 and so on. I can't select any of these to switch to TV mode in order to try to reproduce the problem.

I switched to another skin just out of interest but the result was the same. However I noted that the mute issue still applies with just the confirmatory noises as the menu options are changed so here is the enclosed dump.

Cliff[DOUBLEPOST=1376784728][/DOUBLEPOST]To Holzi whose post hasn't appeared here for reasons unknown: it's not the MP volume level, after all if that was at zero how would I hear anything to start with? I've been task switching to unmute and the level is always at maximum but with the red no entry sign showing that the sound has been muted.

Thanks for the suggestion in any case.

Very bad netiquette to answer my own questions I realise but to save anyone wasting time mm135200 was bang on. The problem was a clash with the iMon driver from SoundGraph. When I removed it the m key worked fine for mute and unmute. Thanks for the heads up!

Now I gotta decide mute/unmute or cute LCD on the front panel!

Remember that the key mapping in MP is programmable, so if it's specifically the 'm' key clashing with iMon then you could re-map the mute function to another key.
