Synopsis::

I am trying to view the mp3s on my pc by genre or year or album, but don't get any info.
The mp3s are definately tagged (I can sort in Mediaplayer 9 and 10) the mp3s on year, genre, album, artist etc.

What can be the problem?

The sorting you describe uses the Mediaportal music database. Try populating it in Mediaportal Setup -> Music -> Music Database -> Refresh database button.

Re

Thanks Onkl, but that doesn't make a difference.

I still can't view the music in another way then by shares (via the switch view option).
I've installed this version also on another pc where I have exactly the same problem. I would really like to use media portal as it has great features, but if I can't get something basic like this to work i'm not sure I will continue using it.

Any other suggestions?

To make sure that your tags are OK (a lot of different versions exist and Mediaportal cannot read all the tags which WMP can read):
If you play a song, the song length, artist and title scroll below the small visualisation window which is usually visible right-below. Does this work at your setup?
Edit: Sorry, didn't notice your CVS. Prolly OffColour is right.

got it, and it works like a charm!
Is there a way to add album art to a whole database in one go?
