In MediaPortal it shows channel 3 as being the active channel. When I play TV all I get is a black screen and my PC locks up for a while. I am at work now. Do you need the logs?

What codec do you use?
Maybe you can play around with different codecs in the TV section. You can change it in the normal MP Configuration program.

If you still struggle, attach a screenshot of your codec settings and full logs yes.

One thing I have noticed is that after setting up TV-Server, none of my other apps that use the tuner card can find it. If I uninstall TV-Server and reboot, everything works again. Is this normal?

Played around with mediaPortal codecs without success. went back to TVServer and now nothing works! Time to give up?

Reinstall

Hey, I did a full uninstall, the server, the client, SQL Server Express, my tuner card and drivers. I then reinstalled and tried several different codec combinations. I am now getting both video and audio. Thanks rekenaar, your help has been invaluable.

Can I impose on you a little further? No matter what codec combimation I use I get a slight stutter in both video and audio every couple of seconds. Also, how can I use an EPG when all channels come through channel 3 on a set top cable box?

Quite a lengthy thread, but it might be worth your while to read and try the RelaxTsReaderForBadReception.txt for the stutter.

I am not sure about your (US) epg, but search here for Schedules Direct and see if there is something usefull. But typically, miltiple channels will be created in MP with different channel numbers but the same tuning details. Sometginh like IRSS can be used to blast channel changes to STB.
