Hi!

I have this strange problem on my MediaPortal installation (multi-seat) that when I change the channel, I don't see the new channel, but instead playback starts of the timeshift buffer. Thid means that I have to use the right-arrow to fast-forward to live-tv. Not really a high WAF in that

I didn't have this in RC1, 2, 3 or 4, but I'm not sure if it has anything todo with the version, perhaps something is just messed up elsewhere.

This is on a pretty clean XP SP3 i reinstalled a few days ago.

This problem is probably TV-Server related, as my Windows Vista client is experiencing excactly same situation.

Wow...you nailed the problem there! This now works (had to restart tvserver service first).



But...when will the EPG be grabbed then?

If it makes any difference my TV-card is a dual-tuner and all (4) my channels are on the same transponder. Is the EPG grabbing really taking control over the card?

there are different options in the config -

(EPG grapping while IDLE , --- EPG grapping while timeshift/recording?)

i do a lot of things with MePo - but sometimes i think i don't understand the "simple" things in english

Only one. Idle grabbing shouldn't be causing the bug some of users are seeing.

We need to get more information how to reproduce this issue as no one in the team is able to reproduce it (so it is almost impossible to fix currently).

- what channels does it happen
- how often it happens (every time, randomly...)
- does different video & audio codecs change the behavior?
- does it happen if only one DVB tuner/card is installed?
- any other information that might be relevant

I haven't had the problem since it was fixed for me, and now it makes no difference if i check/uncheck the EPG grab boxes, my timeshift-file works as it should. My problem is therefore gone, but it was very much there UNTIL I unchecked the "Grap while timeshifting" and restarted TV-Service.

This bug's gonna be hard to nail, I checked the log-files again and again and found nothing out of the ordinary in them.

Codec-changes: no change (switch between MPV & PDVD - later tried FFD - but kicked again)
only ONE DVB-Card: not tried till now
