Changing channnels by keying numbers (2 Viewers)

Hmmm. What does it do if you uncheck "select channel by index"? Does it do anything at all, or the same thing?

if i uncheck it.. then the keypad buttons do absolutely nothing !

That's odd. I'm not familiar with how MP deals with dvb channels, though. It's doing the exact same thing it does to me with an stb.

If you go into MP Configuration - Television - TVChannels, what does it show for the channels? Does it show the correct number or something else? For example, mine shows 25000/4. Which means it's an external channel and the external channel number is 4.

well i've just been told that MP does not do LCN Logical Channel Numbering ... so it will never do it!

got to say that's a bit of a killer for me using MP 100%.

LCN for me has to be a basic feature... i mean there is no sense in having to key 42 to get channel 83 !!!

I definitely agree with you that it's a ridiculous oversight by the developers. It's an obvious thing that apparently has never been truely addressed. Every US user with sattelite or digital cable is left using it this way, plus how many others in other parts of the world.

However, I am pressing on with trying to make it work. You can track my progess in my bug report if you like. If I can't make it work, I'll just uninstall MP and chalk it up to experience. Well, either that or I'll just start whining. :wink:

I have it fixed. If I get ahold of the source code for 0.2, I'll upload a patch that you can try out.

Now I have to make it work so I can browse the epg with lcn.

Hi, I have the same problem. Could you let me know if the patch is alread incorporated in the latests SVNs or something else must be done?

i would also like to say that i have the same issue trying to get media portal to line up with the sky channels 101+. This post is just to log my desire for this mapping ability to be included in future versions (if not already planned)
