channel scanning deletes channel information on other card (1 Viewer)

My System has got two tv-cards (DVB-C and DVB-S).
Unfortunately I cannot save the tuning information for both cards on many channels available for both cards.
Scanning DVB-S deletes the (previously correct) DVB-C data, scanning DCB-C deletes the DVB-S data.
Strangely, this applies only to free-to-air-channels, not for channels that use the DVB-C cam module. For those channel both DVB-C and DVB-S data is stored correctly.

Steps to reproduce:
Situation:
Channel (e.g. 'ZDF') configured for both DVB-C and DVB-S, but no DVB-S-Data available.
Step 1:
Scan DVB-S
Situation after Step 1:
DVB-S data there, but no DVB-C data.
Step 2:
Scan DVB-C
Situation after Step 2:
DVB-C data there, but no DVB-S data.




Any help really appreciated?

thx very much for answering.
However, I believe my problem is different from the one described above.
Here the information is stored for the same card (most likely DVB-S). MP does not provide the possibility to store different information for the same channel for the same card.
However, MP does provide the possibility to store different channel data for DIFFERENT CARDS as in my case. Unfortunately, for same reason this possibility is not used in the describes cases.
In my case, different cards (DVB-C, DVB-S) are used and scanning stores the channel data in the appropriate database column (visible in the different tabs when editing channels). But for some reason, scanning for the other card not only stores the new information in the appropriate (DVB-S) database column, but also deletes the information for the other (DVB-C) column.


I'll try to have a closer look into the tvserver database to find out what exactly happens.

Automatic channecombining seems buggy when channel name and providername are the same

Analysing the database(s), I found some more information:

As I did the last scan for DVB-S, now the DVB-C information is missing.
The db table tuningdetails contains only the DVB-S information, the records with the dcb-c information have been deleted (or overwritten) by the last scan .
This applies to all channels where channel name and provider name are the same
In these cases the channel where automatically combined during scanning.
In other cases, where the provider names are different, I did the combining manually. This works fine.
(this explains that tuning details for both cards persist in these cases.)

According to the database names, the problem was introduced in RC1.
The database called TvLibrary has got the correct tuning details,

As far as I can see, the automatic combining is buggy if channel name and provider name are the same.

I hope this information can help.

Could I have a look into the source code for channel scanning to find out what goes wrong?
Where can I find the appropriate source?

Sorry for digging up this old thread, didn´t find anything newer.

I have the same problem with one dvb-s, one dvb-c and one dvb-t card with the latest 1.1 RC1. As soon as I scan DVB-S my DVB-C tuning details get overwritten and vice versa.

Is there any workaround for that and/or is it already in the works for RC2?
