First, I am still using an old version, and most likely will continue to do so until such time (later) that I upgrade to a 64 bit OS and MP2. So if no one wants to look at a 1.2.3 problem, that understandable.

I have 100+ clear QAM channels that work perfectly, but 2 channels, Hallmark and Hallmark Movies, that have the following strange behavior:
    1) The channels tune and work perfectly on TVs, both audio and viedeo.
    2) The channels tune and work perfectly in TVserver Configuation > Preview, both audio and video.
    3) But neither channel works right in MP
3.1) Hallmark fails completely when click to start in the guide - MP locks up with no indication of any sort. (I think it EVENTUALLY returns to normal, but I haven't waited more than 3 or 4 minutes).
3.2) Hallmark Movies has good video, but no audio.

Taking 3.1 first, debug logs are attached. Start MP fresh, click Hallmark in guide, wait a while, stop MP and TV, save logs.

    Thanks for looking --

    Hello :)

It looks like MediaPortal thinks it is "playing" the channel, but TsReader thinks it is paused. Given that TV Server preview works, we can be sure that the version of TsReader you're using is capable of playing the stream. It is possible preview is using different codecs. Therefore I suggest you try other codecs and/or updating the LAV codecs which you're currently using for MediaPortal playback. If that doesn't help then unfortunately there's probably nothing further that can be done to solve this problem within the constraints of MP 1.2.3.

Thanks, MM -- I'll try that and post result. Does the behavior you suggest account for MP 'locking up', ie, not responding to any remote input including 'stop'? Do you think the no audio on the other channel is likely a similar issue?

You have been a busy person on the MP1 support forum.

I tried the original MP codecs -- no change.
I upgraded to LAV 66: Hallmark now locks up with a blank screen, whereas before it locked up on the guide screen. Hallmark Movies still no audio.

However, I seem to have misstated the situation wrt to Hallmark Movies. In trying to see what could be different about these channels, I looked at the cable frequencies (nothing unusual, several other logical channels in the same frequency bands), and the logical channel numbers. Hallmark does indeed have the same logical channel as on the TV, so I guess just out of luck with that one.
But Hallmark Movies has 266.1, instead of 74.1. So I seem to be tuning Hallmark Movies from a 'higher service tier', for which I'm not paying.
So now I wonder why I'm getting it at all -- should be encrypted.
    Sorry for my mistake.

I tried the original MP codecs -- no change.
Those codecs are ancient now - not really a good alternative. The sorts of alternatives I was thinking of were (for example) ffdshow, Cyberlink, AC3Filter, ArcSoft, CoreAVC, Elgato...

I upgraded to LAV 66: Hallmark now locks up with a blank screen, whereas before it locked up on the guide screen. Hallmark Movies still no audio.
Despite your subsequent explanation, I'm interested to see fresh log files for both of these scenarios.

mm, I would say that I can produce more logs than you can analyze -- but you might tale that as a challenge -- and you'd probably win.
So back to the subject, the first 2 logs are for the Hallmark channel that locks up MP, and the second 2 are for the Hallmark movie channel (with incorrect logical channel numbers) that has no sound. Both are obtained using the latest LAV filters.
    Thanks again for looking.

Thanks for the log files. :)
I can see the signs of the problems you've described, though the direct causes are not clear.
Are you able to post TsReader logs showing successful preview? (TV Server preview uses TsReader like MediaPortal)

    Your request is my --
The first two files are for previewing Hallmark (I included the TV logs)
The second two are for previewing Hallmark Movies.
Both previews again/still work fine - audio and video.

The Ts reader files do look quite different, huh?

    Thanks again, mm.

I tried recording Hallmark channel. It recorded fine. Hangs up trying to play in MP - except that STOP works. Plays OK in WMP, except the screen size/format is off.
My guess is that this is what you expected.
