    Which codec do you use?

Switch to "Expert Mode" at the right corner.
Click on "DirectShow Filters" and Cyberlink Power DVD 7.
And you see the HA checkbox :)

With MAP/MPV codec it is not possible to use HA.

Normally I would have it tagged but been changing so much lastly. At the moment I am using CODEAVC (I think it was late last night). Before that I was using PowerDVD8 Ultra and there wasn't a branch for PowerDVD. I will load in Ultra PowerDVD 7 in tonight.

Loaded on PowerDVD 7 and the tag appears, funny it doesn't for DVD8. Still doesn't work correctly by due to the amount of stuffing round and differnet codecs I'm not suprised. I might have to blow away the whole system and start again.

My system running with power dvd 7 codec great!
You need the quartz.dll fix to watch tv with ha without stuttering.

Try a clean install and only install the MPA/MPV Codec and Power DVD 7.

Power DVD 8 has no settings in DirectShowFilter. Only god nows why :)

To answer some questions on this thread...

    1. A quick way to see if hardware acceleration is used, connect to the remote graph and see if the renderer (VMR9) is using DXVA.
DXVA (VMR9) or DXVA2 (EVR) = Hardware Acceleration.
    2. The de-interlacing settings are for when software de-interlacing is being used and they're there for fallback if the decoder cannot accelerate the media type.
MediaPortal detects your cards capabilities and sets this if need be based on the best technology first and codec capabilities into VMR9.
    3. The best codecs are the commerical one's if you want HW acceleration like the Cyberlink codecs from PowerDVD. Unlike MPA/MPV, CoreAVC or FFDShow.
    4. PowerDVD8 settings are in the latest SVN.

Cheers Guys, I have now rebuilt my system about 6 times over the last 2 days trying to get a decent system running on HA.
First off I have found a problem in the ATI Cat 8.6 drivers where if you go full screen they don't work. Also for some reason once I installed either XP SP3 or direct X 10 all the codes would only run in Software mode in XP.

My last try in XP was almost fine until I tried to FF or RW, then my video becomes all blockie and missie, find untill I FF or RW, this was the same with videos

I thought I would give XP a go but the same problem blockie problem and it doesn't seem to matter which PowerDVD codec I use.

Is the quartz.dll over for XP ?

To see if I am using HA I just check my CPU and see if it is under 70%

Anyone know what the min specs for the TV Server is ati hd2600 and not a 2400?
