Hey guys, I got lucky and bought an opteron 150 (2.4ghz, 1mb cache) for a fraction of its price (85$ US).

Now, I started thinking I just might be able to resell it and buy an X2 3800+ cpu...

What would YOU do?

1- keep the opty
2- buy the X2

I only do some casual gaming, dvd & video playback and listen to music on my rig... Hence why Im thinking the X2 should be the better choice (multitasking)...

Hate to be a killjoy but the one to go for is the X2 4200+
There were some major changes between the two that makes it worthwhile, but then the difference between the 4200 and the amd higher processes diminishes, something to do with the architecture of the core die, if i remember correctly, which increases the speed dramatically over the 3800.
But remember the processor must realy mate with the motherboard for full optimal use. (good processor, crap motherboard which might work but not great).
My vote, keep the opty, reliable and fast.

Hmmm, not being rude, but the mobo (being cheap as in inexpensive) has proven itself to be quite reliable and stable with a decent overclock.
