It is the combination of the NSK 2480 case and the Scythe NINJA MINI cooler. That case was designed together with the people of http://www.silentpcreview.com/ and it's a very clever design. It was intended to be used with the NINJA MINI and only the case fans. I'm actually quite impressed how good it works, the X2 BE 2400 is a 45 Watt CPU and core temperature never gets over 29 degrees Celsius.

Thanks for that information, and my apologies for getting off the track in your thread - I wish I could offer a solution to your choppy video problem.

Just one more query about your setup - is the PSU supplied with the NSK 2480 case silent? Is it fanless, or very, very quiet?

Is there a way to detect which filter in the graph is installing?
Yes, if you use GraphEdit or DSGraphEdit, you can "Connect to a remote graph" and see what MediaPortal is using.

Also, if I view TV fullscreen, then the GUI of MP is not visible.. so how can it interfere with playback?
Start with MediaPortal in "windowed" mode, then you can put TV into full-screen within the window and access GraphEdit to view the graph.

Have you tried using other codecs? I find that I get performance issues/choppiness with some codecs, but not with others.

ffdshow tryouts would have something in there you could install and enable in mediaportal to see if it helps/changes anything.

There is a Antec SU380 PSU delivered with the case. It is quite silent as long as you keep temperature and load low (the setup with AMD BE and M2A mainboard have low power consumption). See http://www.silentpcreview.com/article591-page1.html for a full review and they also compare it with other cases PSU and fan's.

    Hi all!

I disabled the Cool'N'Quiet function and increased the GFX RAM size to 256 MB in the BIOS.
That did the trick. Video is now perfectly smooth, and MP is also more responsive.

    Thanks for your help! :D

Which one of these changes "did the trick"?

Does that mean that you can't use Cool'N'Quiet with MediaPortal?

BTW - thanks for the information on the Antec - that's exactly what I am looking for.

The 256 MB GFX Ram size was the solution. I just set Cool'N'Quiet back to 'Auto' in the BIOS and don't see much difference.

Other good news, I have a LExxR8y series TV of Samsung, and it turns out they have exactly one 1:1 digital pixel mapping mode:
HDMI input 2, 1360x760p60Hz with 6 pixels overscan.

    Sorry, I mean 1360x768p60
