Chroma Skin (1 Viewer)

This skin comes from a concept i was developing for Mediaportal 2.0 using vector graphics.
It seemed a good starting point and worth of publishing for Mediaportal 1.2.x.
Development was very fast and took less than a month during my little spare time.
Optimized for Full HD resolution.
The skin is meant to be used from a remote or keyboard. Mouse is partially supported.
Fanart supported in every screen.
Different color themes are available (Lime/Default, Amber, Indigo, Fuchsia, Titanium).


Download - Initial set up

Use TortoiseSVN to download the latest in-development version of the skin:

• Download TortoiseSVN
• Install TortoiseSVN
• Reboot
• Open your Mediaportal skin folder, usually "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin". Use this page to find the Mediaportal skin folder.
• Create a new folder called "Chroma"
• Right click on "Chroma" folder and select "SVN Checkout"
• If you are using MediaPortal 1.2.3, enter for "URL of repository": http://chromaskin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Chroma for Mediaportal 1.2
• If you are using MediaPortal 1.3, enter for "URL of repository": http://chromaskin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Chroma for Mediaportal 1.3
• If you are using MediaPortal 1.4 or higher, enter for "URL of repository": http://chromaskin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Chroma for Mediaportal 1.4
• Select "HEAD revision" for "Revision"
• Click "OK". TortoiseSVN will download the skin.

Skin Updates

If you want to update the skin, right click on "Chroma" folder and select "SVN Update"
Remember to delete the Mediaportal cache folder (usually "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache") every time you update the skin. Use this guide to clear the Mediaportal cache folder.

• HD Ready support. If you need to run the skin using HD Ready resolutions (1280x720 or 1366x768), you need to download and install in the skin folder this package: Patch Hd Ready.rar
• TV Mini Guide 3 Rows. If you prefer more visible screen with the tv mini guide, install this file: Patch TV Mini Guide 3 Rows.rar
• TV Mini Guide 6 Rows. If you prefer a full screen tv mini guide, install this file: Patch TV Mini Guide 6 Rows.rar

Yes, it's a brand new concept in both layout and navigation.
I tried to keep the skin as simple as possible.

Testing it now, initial thoughts:

* Could use some fresh artwork pictures (the Dexter one for TV-Series is incredibly overused IMHO) to give it a bit more WOW! factor
* Moving Pictures doesn't use the plugin's custom naming that you can setup in Moving Pictures configuration but just a text label?
* The MePo logo at the top of each screen, perhaps add a Theme that hides this to prevent burn-in on Plasma TVs?
* It's a very fast and nice skin - top notch!

I'm running 1.3 Alpha, so I can't test it much more than what I'm doing now, but I look forward to it being available for 1.3 Beta.

Im on 1.3a as well.

I see in the googlecode folder you're planning a 1.3 version as well. Hope its soon so my testing can be more effecient.

Hi TGX , very nice looking skin , nice work with the layout ..
looking forward , to the Blue Theme , as i think the blue color will look very ,very good .... (sorry not so big on the "lime green" color... )
