Hello,

I am running Mediaportal 1.2.1 on a Stand Alone PC and a Client PC.

The stand alone PC itself is absolutely fine and wakes itself and puts itself back to sleep no problem.

However, the problem is when I stop watching TV on the Stand Alone PC and use the Client.

I can watch TV on the Client with no problem but after I turn it off and try to turn the Stand Alone PC, I get the message "Connection to TV Service Lost" and I note that none of my overnight recordings have been made.

The only way to fix this is to double click on the TV Server icon upon which it asks if you want to restart the TV Service or restarting the computer.

The very fact that that I have been asked to restart the TV Service shows me that it has somehow been stopped but I have no idea why.

The only thing that I do know is that it only happens after I have been using a Client PC.

I did double check on another thread whether this problem might be caused as a result of my using Power Scheduler rather than Power Scheduler ++, but it apparently makes no difference.

I shall stick a log on here shortly, but in the meantime, has anyone had a similar problem to this?

Thanks

    Hi,

Not enough details in your post to compare but I had a similar problem that just started to happen a week ago.

TV server was just stopping in the night, some reference in logs to not finding various channels but not obvious what was going on. I looked in TV server and it had lost then re-found one of my dual tuners and the old instance was still showing up in the list as "Unknown".

I deleted the phantom cards from the list and re-scanned all cards and the problem went away.

May be worth a check if something similar had happened with your setup, or it could be something completely different.

    Chris
