Codec Issues on New Install (1 Viewer)

I recently installed the MP v1.1.3.0 software, and I'm not sure I have the codecs configured properly or even have the correct one.

I'm trying to play an HD movie that is in .mp4 format, and when I try to play the movie in MP I get an error message displaying

Unable to play: 300.mp4
Video codec: AVC
Audio Codec: AAC VERSION 4 LC

The screen resolutions also changes and I have to quit the software.

Any ideas how to get around this to play? Or what codec I need to play these files... Location to download?

Could you please generate a debug log file (as per footer links)? That usually helps debugging.

Or install the LAV filters found here LAV Filters - DirectShow Media Splitter and Decoders - Doom9's Forum

Make sure these are chosen in config for mpeg and h.264 under tv\video codec settings.

i thought the lav filter only works its cuda magic on NVIDIA cards? VCard is ATI here.
