MediaPortal Version: 1.1.2
Windows Version: Windows 7 64bit
CPU Type: Intel i530
Memory: 4Gb
Motherboard: Asus P7H55-M PRO
Video Card: Intel HD video

This problem may not be specific to media portal but I will post here hoping to get help. I have a strange problem with a few recent (not all) 1080p mkv files. When I play them in mediaportal there seems to be occasional split second freezing \ lag. It does not happen at specific intervals but often enough to be annoying ( 80+ times per hour) and the video and audio remain in synch. The HD is not fragmented and I dont see CPU or memory spikes in performance. I have the latest klite codec pack installed. I also have the issue if I play the mkv directly in MPC-HC. The strange thing is if i play the movie in Windows Media Player, it plays fine. I am really stumped with this. I also tried the problematic mkv files on another system and can reproduce the issue; problems in MPC-HC but fine in WMP. Any suggestions or additional info needed ?

i use haali matroska splitter for mkvs
    - coreavc 2.0 for video decoding
    - then ffdshow (beta7 tryouts or SAF 5) for audio decoding
    - default direct sound device for audio renderer
    - EVR (enchanced video renderer - coz its win 7) for video renderer

Well I figured it out, it had nothing to do with codecs. The issue was with the mkvs themselves. I split the audio and video streams and remerged them with the latest version of mkvmerge. Still a strange problem.
